Jan 10:Wedding & Prom Showcase - The premiere local Wedding & Prom event is coming to The Centre on Sunday, January 10 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Say 'I do' to making your day the best that it can be! The Weddings & Prom Showcase features more than 100 exhibit booths focused on your special day - your wedding - or your prom! Bridal and prom retailers will share their products and services with attendees while extraordinary fashion shows, mini-event presentations and prize giveaways will take place throughout the day. So, mark the date, Sunday, January 10, and make your wishes come true. Tickets for the Weddings & Bridal Showcase will be available at the door on Sunday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $4 per for those 13 years and older. 12 years and under are free.

Jan 21 7:30 PM:'Underground Revival' Gospel Play - The Underground Revival is an interactive, musical theatrical event that is not to be missed! This gospel play is coming to The Centre on Thursday, January 21. The Underground is a place where signed and unsigned artists (singers, musicians, comedians, etc) alike go to sharpen their skills and network. You never know what will happen or who will take the stage, but one thing you can count on is the D-List. Seats are $40 and $30.

Jan 1:41st Annual Mid-States Craft Exhibition - The juror for this six-state competition is Jane Sauer, Director of the Jane Sauer Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Known for her outstanding reputation among art collectors, museum curators, art critics, and artists, Jane has 34 years of experience as both an innovative studio artist and gallery director. The exhibition will continue through January 31.

Jan 1:Views of a City: Images from the Donahue Collection Provides Visually Intriguing Look at City's Past - The Town Hall exhibition features images produced from the late 1940s through the early 1990s by Donahue Studios, a leading commercial photography studio in Evansville. This exhibition will be open until further notice.

Jan 5:Toddler Tuesdays: Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner - Bring your toddler to the Museum the first Tuesday of each month and enjoy a story and activity related to items in our collection. Each visit will include a story and game or special activity. Toddlers ages 2-3 are welcome to participate in this admission-free event along with an adult. Toddler Tuesdays begin at 10:30 a.m. and last approximately 45 minutes.

Jan 11:Museum Classes for Children & Adults: How to Use a Telescope - Wondering how to use that shiny new telescope you received over the holidays? Having trouble finding things in the night sky? This course in everything astronomical is taught by Mitch Luman. The George and Dorothy Eykamp Director of the Koch Science Center and Planetarium. Participants will see a planetarium show, learn how to find things in the night sky, receive tips on the best places to watch the stars, and receive expert instruction on how to use that new telescope. Participants are urged to bring their telescopes – new or old – with them to the class. Families are encouraged to enroll. Adults may accompany children at no extra charge. Begins at 10 a.m. Ages 10 and up. Fee is $12 for members/$17 for non-members. Registration due by January 15 with a maximum of 10 students.

Jan 1:Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights - The largest winter light show in Indiana benefits local children and adults with disabilities. The drive-through event features a mile of sparkling lights on elaborate "fantasyland" scenes. Horse-drawn carriage rides available nightly. Continues through January 3.

Jan 2:Home Depot's Kids Workshops - The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin. Jan 9:Under the Beams Concert Series: Erin Bode - The annual season kicks off this month with acclaimed Erin Bode. The Erin Bode Group creates music forged from the Americana of its members' midwestern roots, infused with jazz grooves and made magic by Bode's bell-like voice. Sophisticated arrangements and attention to phrasing, both vocal and instrumental, further distinguish the band's fresh sound. Jan 23:Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra's "Family Reunion" Concert - Current concertmaster Gared Crawford takes the spotlight in "Romance for Violin & Orchestra." in a special performance of Vivaldi's famous "The Four Seasons", each season will feature a former concertmaster. Former conductor Stewart Kershaw will take the podium and reunite with Delmar Pettys, concertmaster during the "Kershaw years." And what happens when you mix a bunch of violin show-offs with "Flight of the Bumblebee"? Begins at 7:30 p.m.

Jan 25:Victory For Kids 'Harry The Dirty Dog' - As part of the Victory For Kids Series 2009-2010 Series, Harry The Dirty Dog is coming The Victory on Monday, January 25 with two shows at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Harry has everything a little white dog with black spots could want. There's just one problem: he hates taking baths. He hates them so much, in fact, that one morning he runs away. After a wonderful day spent playing in the dirt, Harry gets so grubby that he turns into a little black dog with white spots and returns home to find that his family doesn't recognize him! ArtsPower's new musical, based on the classic book by Gene Zion with illustrations by Margaret Bloy Graham, captures both the whimsical humor and touching dedication to family found in Harry's story. Tickets are $5.00 a person.

This seasonal nature story and craft class is a fun and enriching experience for parents and children up to 5 years old. Jan 10:Winter Bird Banding  - Join Master Bird Bander Scott Kramer for an ongoing conservation project as we catch, identify, tag, and release birds from the Nature Preserve. This avian research program is a great opportunity for pictures, so bring a camera. $4 per person/$12 per family. Note: for the safety of the birds, this program will be cancelled if it is raining, snowing, or if the temperature dips much below 32 degrees. Begins at 1 p.m.

Jan 11:Indiana Master Naturalist Course Begins - An introductory program of nature discovery and service learning for adults. Course provides an introduction to our local natural history and develops skills for interpretation through lectures, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and a guided outdoor field trip.
