Sep 3-4:Plenn-Air Studio and Workshop - This 2-day adult workshop is designed for beginning to advanced artists seeking out more knowledge to enhance and create a beautiful composed painting.The 2-day workshop will consist of students learning the fundamentals of a composition and compositional studies in the studio. Weather permitting, day 2 will be plein-air painting in the beautiful gardens of Audubon Museum. Don't miss the instruction by the professional, award winning, Wildlife artist Devere Burt from Cincinnatti, Ohio. Pre-registration is required. A supply list will be provided. Sep 18-19:Monarch Butterfly Migration Mysteries - Bid a farewell to the Monarch Butterflies migrating south for the winter. Groups will meet at the Audubon Museum for a 45-minute introductory indoor presentation. Next, a carpool will relocate to the Sloughs Wildlife Management Area for some outdoor Monarch tagging. The outdoor portion (2-3 hours) is weather dependent. Please dress for potentially marshy conditions. Tags and nets will be provided. Program Fee: $5 per person, Family rate (up to five members, extra members $2.50 each) - $13; FOA Members - $4 per person. 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sep 25:The Special Birds of Audubon Park - Located along the Mississippi flyway the Evansville/Henderson area, specifically John James Audubon State Park, hosts a great variety of birdlife. Who are the common permanent and migrant residents who live in Audubon State Park? Sharon Sorenson will crack the popular birds’ avian secrets and share her insights into their lives. This program is held in conjunction with the Henderson, KY 2010 Audubon Bicentennial. Begins at 2 p.m.

Continuing through October 2: Herb Block Exhibitions - Herbert Block, the political cartoonist known as "Herblock," becaome the most honored cartoonist of his time, winning three Pulizer Prizes and sharing a fourth for his Watergate cartoons, which contributed to the resignation of President Nixon. Block was the only living cartoonist whose work has exhibited in the National Gallery of Art, and the only living cartoonist to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Museum will have on location the Block exhibit "The Long March." This presents a fascinating history of Herblock's political cartoons regarding civil rights. Mr. Block took on causes with courage and conviction, coined the phrase "McCarthyism," forced reform and became the most influential and enduring political cartoonist in American history. Sep 17-19, 24-26:"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" - A musical tale of overachievers’ angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders in the throes of puberty (hilariously portrayed by adult actors!) vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime! The show’s Tony Award winning team has created a hit musical about the most unlikely of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom the spelling bee is one place where they can stand out for the first time.
