Gone to the Dogs: The Warrick Humane Society Presents the 4th Annual Dogs ‘N Suds on the Ohio

Ah, the dog days of summer. What does that mean exactly? It means there are some doggone exciting doggie-style events happening in August. Whew, I think I have exhausted all dog clichés possible.

Get Fido and Bingo, or in my case Kodi and Chaz, away from their beloved rawhide bones for a while and bring them down to the 4thAnnual Dogs and Suds on the Ohio, benefiting the Warrick Humane Society, a no-kill shelter for abandoned cats and dogs. This isn’t just any Saturday mutt strut; this is freshly prepared BBQ, live music by Troy Miller and a BEER GARDEN. No suds to the pooches please.

You can spend time with your most loyal of friends and hang out with the two-legged kind too. Or, if you are in need of a canine companion, keep in mind, the orphans of the Warrick Humane Society will be there too, shooting you puppy dog eyes and begging for new homes. All pets up for adoption have been heartworm tested, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, micro chipped, de-bugged, attended obedience training and come with a new collar and leash. All friendly, healthy dogs are welcome to accompany their people and while you are there, enjoy some of the services WHS has to offer including: dog bath, basic haircut, nail trim and ID microchipping.

All the dogs you see are up for adoption at the Warrick County
Humane Society. Visit them at petfinder.org for more pooches or more
information about one of the dogs you see here.

Last year Kodi and Chaz got to attend the Dogs ‘N Suds Festival and thought Chaz the Chihuahua was shivering and wanted to be held the entire time, Kodi the Akita had a blast. He got to meet lots of friendly new dogs and even got some leftovers under the table. We saw another Chihuahua chasing a Great Dane and some mugs that only a mother could love. This year will be even more exciting and I’m sure the boys will make a whole new set of friends.

The fun starts at five at the Old Lock and Dam Site in Newburgh, IN. For more information, call (812) 858-1132 or visit www.warrickhumanesociety.org.
