According to Anita Frazer, “it was a long process,” when asked about Ruby Moon winery and vineyard in Henderson, KY. “We visited other vineyards and wineries and fell in love with the ambiance. The people who ran the wineries were always very friendly and seemed to love what they were doing.”

In 2003, Jamie Like and Anita Frazer purchased a stretch of land on the skirts of Henderson and began their dream of making delicious wine. By 2004, a vineyard was planted and in 2006 Ruby Moon Winery and Vineyard secured the proper licensing and opened a charming area for tasting and a small gift shop.

Beginning with their first two wines last year, the Audubon Red made from concord grapes and a Peach Wine consisting of peaches also grown in Henderson, Anita explained they try to only used locally grown fruit for their wines, and in time to be exclusively “home grown.”

Currently, Ruby Moon offers five wine varieties and a sixth is on its way.

Audubon Red –A sweet red wine made produced from estate grown concord grapes
Audubon White-A sweet white wine produced from estate grown Niagara grapes
Apple Wine-A sweet, earthy wine produced from apple juice from Reid’s Orchard in Owensboro
Strawberry Wine -A sweet fruit wine produced from locally grown strawberrie
