New Local Football Team to Get Down and Durrrty

The Tri-State Titans

If you’re into pure, unadulterated, pigskin action look no further than the Tri-State Titans. The Titans are a new team raised from the ashes of the Vipers to the local semi- pro football scene. The team boasts a rooster from not only the tri-state area but reaching in a regional span as far as Oklahoma to Tennessee and several dedicated players in between. Make no mistake; these burly men are not just playing to get away from their wives or girlfriends for a few days a week. On the contrary, sports enthusiasts; these are men who are ready to get down, they are ready and willing to bring a serious and spectator friendly game of football to a local crowd.

Titans.jpgOwner Elton Funches played high school football at Bosse and is less than humble when it comes to his players this season; he believes they will be uncontested by any of the other nine teams in the Mid Ohio Football League (M.O.F.L.). Talk to Elton about his team and it is easy to see how much respect he has for his players and dedicated he is to them. All members of the team are unpaid so in a sense they are volunteers. According to Elton, the Titans provide a fantastic medium for guys who want to prepare for college ball, guys who didn’t receive a scholarship but still want to play, and even guys who want to come out and have a good time while staying competitive.

Granted, as serious as these men are about dominating the football scene, they are a young team, and in that respect they welcome sponsors from the tri-state area as well as anyone who wants to put a dollar in their tight, padded pockets. Expenses range from uniforms to field and referee fees. The team itself maybe young but a majority of the Titans have a good amount of experience under their belts, some of them are All City players, so talent is not in short supply. Not only are they fierce on the field but with the right resources allocated they could pack a whole new punch within the M.O.F.L.

With the experienced leadership of Dion Pendelton as head coach at the wheel of this leather headed juggernaut, very little is unachievable on the football field for this group of men. Dion grew up with football in his blood, starting as a boy and playing through to junior college. His son, who goes by the same name, is the quarterback for North High School and has been offered a full ride scholarship to Western Kentucky University. Dion decided he wanted to move on after 13 years of coaching kids. Although, he wouldn’t tell you it was the kids that were the problem, it was the parents that annoyed the piss out of him. With the Titans, Dion can stress conditioning and discipline his players while at the same time curse at them in ways that would make Satan himself blush.

It is very clear the Titans would represent the tri-state area very well. They are truly rooted in this community. The Titans set foot on the turf as early as May 31st. This will be an away game versus The Derby City Thunder but starting on June 7th at 7:00 p.m. the Titans will be defending their home turf on Harrison High School’s football field facing the Cincinnati Falcons. You would think that will a large city like Cincinnati the Titans would be outplayed, but contrary to belief the Titans will come out with teeth clenched and battle cries sounding ready to send those Falcons flying up north where they belong.
